The Caverns of Thracia by Paul Jaquays is a good example of why Judges Guild is remembered so fondly by so many of us who started gaming in the 70s. Published in 1979, Thracia is both a large dungeon and a campaign setting in its own right. In the Auran Empire campaign, I used a heavily modified Caverns of Thracia for portions of Old Zahar and its predecessor kingdom, Thrassia. (Thrassia obviously inspired by Thracia, but the double s makes it more evil!). If you stick with the 4:1 gold to xp ratio, your players will not hit a wall in leveling. I pretty much agree with everything said. Dark Tower and Caverns of Thracia in particular are must-owns. FFC, CSIO, WHF, Tegel Manor, are all fascinating and include lots of beautiful maps.
